TGIF!

Summer was fun while it lasted, right? We’ve gotten to work on some fun projects during this gray week, and we launched the identity we designed for Camp Monroe, an historic residential summer camp in upstate New York. We had a great time coming up with a logo that better captured the spirit of the camp, drawing inspiration from classic athletic monograms and collegiate type. Links that Inspired Us This Week

  • An important read on the “Dribbbilisation” of design
  • Nice usage of a Hatch Show Print-inspired typographic pattern in the new identity for the NHL All-Star Game in Nashville
  •  Photos that demonstrate how much downtown Manhattan has changed since the 1990s (not unlike everywhere else)

Around the Neighborhood

If you need an art fix after last week’s SONYA Art Walk, head to northern BK for Bushwick Open Studios. Now in its ninth year, BOS is bigger and better than ever, with almost 500 art spaces open to the public. Events and openings are happening all weekend long, so be sure to see what all the buzz is about.
