Hand-Lettered Branding, a Visit to Dia:Beacon, and More!

TGIF!

It’s been an action-packed week at the McMillianCo. office and we’ve been enjoying soaking up the sun at the end of our work days now that night is no longer falling at 6pm. Over the weekend, Lindsay checked out Dia:Beacon, part of the Dia Art Foundation’s collection housed in a former Nabisco box printing factory in Beacon, NY– a really incredible space. We strongly recommend it for your next day trip upstate! Our latest hand-lettered branding and upcoming logo designs have been keeping us busy, and we’re having fun with our ideas for these projects. Taste of the Lower East Side is almost a month away, and we’re so proud to be taking on the branding for this amazing event for a third consecutive year. Tickets are on sale now! All proceeds go towards programs benefitting communities on both sides of the Williamsburg Bridge.

Around the Neighborhood

Clinton Hill will be getting a new mural of Biggie Smalls this spring, outside of the Key Food on Fulton Avenue where he used to work. We’re excited for this new public art piece, considering the artist who’ll be painting it, Danielle Mastrion, is behind the excellent Beastie Boys mural in the Lower East Side. This weekend marks the opening of the long-anticipated Matthew Weiner’s Mad Men exhibition at the Museum of the Moving Image, featuring sets, costumes, props, and special guest appearances between now and June 14th. As longtime fans of the show, we can’t wait to check it out!
