Occupy Sandy is a coordinated relief effort to help distribute resources and volunteers to help neighborhoods and people affected by Hurricane Sandy. After the storm, we noticed their handwritten flyers throughout the neighborhood and wanted to help the best way we know how — through design. Building on the branding and identity design we developed for Occupy Wall Street, we put together a poster to help spread the word and grow the movement. We incorporated illustrations conveying the Hurricane Sandy relief effort — manpower, trucks, machinery, food and supplies. Paired with their trending hashtag, #wegotthis, the result is simple yet powerful, representing not just one area, or one way to help, but one effort as a whole.
